Whoops..
by gaurav on Dec.04, 2008, under iPhone
I think I made a mistake by not researching for FontSwap too much..
apparantly an application with the same name and purpose used to exist for the 1.x firmware.. I’m surprised how I could’ve missed that.. it used to be a TouchRepo
app..
it’s needless to say that this app is totally unrelated to the older one except for the functioning..
now.. for those of you who’re having issues with the default system font being a few pixels too high..
copy [do *not* move] Helvetica.ttf and HelveticaBold.ttf
from
/Applications/FontSwap.app/StockFonts/ to
/var/mobile/Library/FontSwap/Packages/System Fonts/Default.font/
and reapply the default system font using FontSwap..
for those of you who’re worrying about why the Phone app doesn’t launch after applying Dialer font.. I don’t know.. the font change does take place. the Phone app is terminated and started again but it starts in the background.. the selected font will be available next time you start the app from the springboard.. will look for a fix for this..
I’m just trying to stress that this is a beta release and many issues will be ironed out with an update as soon as I get time to work.

Thanks for the app, but why no italic fonts, particularly Calibri?

Hey man I’ve seen some of your posts around the web. I’m glad you posted the name confusion because I was particularly lost on that. Great app especially at the beta stage. I am just dabbling with my iPhone jailbreaking experience but look forward to the ability to develop my own font packs. Again kudos and I offer my very limited help on your future endeavors

I love this app, it’s fantastic! What would he cool is if there as a way to change the font on the keyboard as well. Thanx for the great beta release and keep up the great work!

Hi gaurav, amazing work on the FontSwap app. I was thinking, after installing SO MANY fonts, I need to check out each one of them by respringing my phone. Isnt it possible to have the font names within the FontSwap app to get displayed in their own font? So that we can have a preview of all the fonts in one window? Something like in MS Word for example…

Well fuck! Get on it and release a fix so people can actually use their iPHONES. Yeah, they’re still phones. Why would you not at least warn people of your program’s “slight” complication on cydia??

Where have you gone, and what about that fix you promised ?
I know you said that FontSwap is a beta release, but I had hoped for an update or word of it’s development by now
I hope you will come back with more updates and other stuff soon.

Is there any way you can put some graffiti font s onto ur package and also to be able to change the system font colors would be cool too. And a preview font so that you dont have to respring iphone. Otherwise it’s a nice!!

Thanks for explaining how to fix the default font’s offset- I thought I was seeing things, lol.
A warning to fellow users:
Do not use the applenews.fr font packs. I don’t know if it’s because they’re intended for French users, but a couple system fonts make the iPhone unstable. (Had to learn the hard way, TWICE)
Looking forward to some quality releases.
Thanks again for the app, gaurav
