well…. i noticed that the cracked apps for iPhone 2.0 have shitty square icons without the effect and shine that we iPhone users have so gotten used to.. made my Springboard look real bad.. i can’t stand that you know..
so after much effort and a lot of coding to automate the process i present to you..
iPhone 2.0 App Original Icons from iTunes
[these are icons with rounded corners and shine. the way they look in iTunes and the way they're supposed to look on the iPhone because after all i pulled them outta the iTunes XML files.. ]
these will definitely make your Springboard look better..
people who are cracking the apps may feel free to use these icons in the app folder before distribution.
it’s a sad day for Apple Inc.
they thought they were on top of things when they decided to take a 30% cut from the developers’ earnings from the iPhone App Store..
they really thought DRM would make the applications copy proof.. i mean.. c’mon.. you know better than that Apple…
it’s the basic nature of all software to be crackable.. i’m yet to see an application that’s got no crack to go along with it on the torrent sites…
now that the simple crack to patch the DRM is out.. we should expect to see a great deal of cracked apps to start floating around..
Apple can kiss goodbye to their app store revenue… [well most of it atleast..]
hey.. i just updated my iPhone to the 2.0 fw and ran into all kinds of caller id trouble..
this is because unlike last time there’s no Installer yet and the AppSupport Patch is not yet available on Cydia.
not to worry though as these replacement files should set your problem right.
make sure you follow the steps closely:
CAUTION: If you do not know what OpenSSH, WinSCP, root , alpine are or if you haven’t used them before, you probably shouldn’t be doing this anyway..
Step 1: Install OpenSSH from Cydia (found easily in featured apps)
Step 2: Restart iPhone
Step 3: Use WinSCP to connect to the iPhone via your IP address Username:root Password: alpine
Step 4: Download this file iPhone 2.0 CallerID India Fix (963) and extract it to your desktop
Step 5: Navigate to the following folders on your iPhone using WinSCP or FUGU and rename the following files, adding .bak at the end [this is just a precautionary measure, you don't ever wanna lose your original files]
copy the files in the archive in these folders, make sure each file goes where it belongs.
Step 6: Restart iPhone
Step 7: Enjoy!
PS: these files have a slight modification from the ones made available by my friends at Bollywood Tadka
these files have support for all fixed, mobile and STD numbers in India, i used files from AppSupport patch for 1.1.4 to get this done.
after months of procrastination..
here’s my first ever blog post..
I would like to thank my iPhone for this..
more to come (now that it’s so easy)..
